Weak magnetic defects in nanowires

Last December a collaboration lead by Dr. Paul van der Heide (imec, Belgium) published a Nano Letters paper where they showed for the first time how to reveal nanoscopic ultra-weak magnetic defects in ultra-scaled nanowires using with Scanning NV Magnetometry.

Magnetic nanowires are among the most promising candidates for spintronic devices as their magnetic properties can be tuned by their geometry, and their fabrication is compatible with standard semiconductor fabrication schemes…
