The use of DP-QUANT1 for characterization of nanometric magnetic systems is highly promising for the development of future ultra-high density magnetic memory media.

In the following work, images of logical bits on a magnetic hard drive prototype from Hitachi GST were taken using an early prototype of DP-QUANT1. In addition to the excellent spatial resolution, DP-QUANT1 provides a quantitative analysis, which allows for the extraction of material parameters (here the saturation magnetization) that are hard to obtain.
